We could use your help! Genealogy Helper is a new feature that will appear in the Harlow Happenings and on our web site. At times, I receive obituaries, returned mail or inquiries for cousins that are not in our current membership listing or that I'm unable to find in our family records. A search through our records can be very time consuming which takes away from the time that I need to index and digitally archive these files. This feature will list the information that we know, which can be very limited, and then invite our cousins to help us further investigate the case or report facts that they might already have.
Genealogy Helper!
Each case will be assigned a number based on when it first appears in the Harlow Happenings or posted on our web site (ex; first case of this year, posted in January would be 2006-01-1 the second case posted in January would be 2006-01-2 etc ). Cases will be marked as 'Solved' and new information printed in the Harlow Happenings and posted to our web site as it becomes available.
Remember to provide full names and complete dates and places when known. Also, provide full source references when available and refer to the case numbers when replying.

2006-06-2: We need some help to find the date and place of death for Life member (#12), Edward H. Bartlett. Edward's last place of residence was New Durham, NH. We received his returned Harlow Happenings in January 2006 marked: Deceased.
2006-06-3: Looking for more information on Ralph and Ellen Kane Harlow from Illinois. Ralph was born about 1884 and Ellen about 1890. They had a daughter, Margaret Florence Harlow born in 1907 in New York. She married Harold Schuyler.
2006-06-5: We need some help to find a connection to Sgt. William Harlow for Oliver Edson Harlow who passed away in Plymouth, MA on 26 Feb 2006.

Solution: Burt Stackhouse found a listing in the Social Security Death Index that states that Edward H. Bartlett, b. 21 Apr 1936; d. 29 Oct 2003 in Sanbornville, Carroll, NH.
Solution: I was able to trace Ralph's father, William Harlow to Jefferson County in Illinois. All of the Harlows in the early to mid 1800's from this county can be traced back to Tennessee and then to Overton Harlow who was born in Virginia in 1782. The Harlows in the above line are definitely from the Virginia Harlow line of descent.
Solution: Vickie Storlie found a listing in the Social Security Death Index that states that Oliver Edson Harlow was b. 16 Jan 1913. She then used the Federal Census and other sources to trace Oliver's line from 1930 back to 1850. This research allowed Vickie to connect Oliver to Ivory Harlow #2612 on page 429 of our book, Harlow Family.
